Vienna – 29 May 2013. Pioneers Festival (30-31 October), Europe’s hottest event on entrepreneurship and innovative technologies has opened this year’s startup applications which include the Pioneers Challenge, the Pioneers 90″ Pitch and the Pioneers Showroom. Besides, Christopher Ahlberg, Founder and CEO of Recorded Future and Andy Johns,
Growth Expert at Quroa/Facebook/Twitter, will join Pioneers Festival 2013 as speakers at the
prestigious Hofburg Imperial Palace in Vienna.
Pioneers Challenge
With the startup competition “Pioneers Challenge”, Pioneers, the organizers of Pioneers Festival, are looking for the leading software and hardware startups in the fields of web, mobile, health, aerospace, AI, robotics and energy who are not older than three years and haven’t raised more than € 1 million in external funding yet. A jury of experts will screen all applications and out of those the Top 50 startups will get invited to join Pioneers Festival. On 29 October they have the chance to to pitch their business idea to an exclusive environment and meet the most important European investors. The best eight teams will make it to the finals and thereby get the chance to present their startup at the Festival Days in front of all 2,500 festival participants, including important investors, international media, corporates, potential future customers and many more.
In 2012, more than 850 startups from 58 different countries and every single continent applied for the Pioneers Challenge. In the end, Nell Watson from Poikos could convince the top-class judges. Christopher Ahlberg at Pioneers Festival The centerpieces of the festival are entrepreneurs and creators of the future, which is why industry leaders like Christopher Ahlberg, Founder and CEO of Recorded Future, Sitar Teli, Investor at Connect Ventures, Andy Johns, Growth Expert at Quora, Twitter and Facebook and Antony Evans, Founder of the Kickstarter Project “Glowing Plant” will come and join Pioneers Festival as speakers. They are going to inspire and educate 2,500 participants on two stages, the Academy and the Arena: Within the Arena new topics and trends will be discussed in an entertaining setting where the audience will get inspired and experience technological innovations. In addition to dynamic, known public figures, they will experience product launches and the newest exponential technologies. Furthermore, the Arena will be hosting the big finale of the Pioneers Challenge. The second stage, the Academy, is especially designed for startups and those who are eager to pick up in-depth expertise in entrepreneurship. There the festival’s educational focus will teach the audience hands-on skills and know-how, which will boost every single startup to the next level.
